THE DZLM

The German Centre for Mathematics Teacher Education (DZLM) was initiated in 2011 by the Deutsche Telekom Stiftung and has set itself the goal - together with those responsible in practice - of supporting mathematics teachers in the further development of their teaching and the implementation of the mathematical content of the educational plans in the day-care centres.

How we develop and research corresponding subject-related offers of professional development and support based on research with mutual interlinking of science and practice is described in detail under What we do.

The DZLM team consists of mathematics educators and works at nine university locations all over Germany:

  • Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Host university and office)
  • Freie Universität Berlin
  • Pädagogische Hochschule Freiburg
  • Ruhr-Universität Bochum
  • Technische Universität Dortmund
  • Universität Duisburg-Essen
  • Universität Osnabrück
  • Universität Paderborn
  • Universität Potsdam

The German Centre for Mathematics Teacher Education combines mathematics didactic expertise in Germany in order to further develop subject-related professionalisation research and make its results available for practical use.
